The “80-20 rule” is often expounded by people, including health practitioners, encouraging us to eat clean 80 percent of the time and to eat whatever you feel like the rest of the time. This guideline is being offered to us from a good place… without a doubt human beings need more gentleness not more stress. At the same time, while it’s important to remember that ultimately healthy eating is about increasing joy and ease in our lives, there is a solid argument to be made for committing to a healing diet exclusively while our symptoms are active.

If you have a good friend who is considerate and kind 80 percent of the time when you get together but the rest of the time is mean and disrespectful, you’re likely to begin to feel tense and defensive around her. Likewise, when we eat better, our bodies begin to let go of the tension that builds up as a result of the onslaught of insulting foods. Our bodies begin to trust us. They soften, relax and start the process of healing. However, if during that process, some not-so-great foods come in, it betrays our body’s trust and creates physical and energetic tension that stalls the healing process.

By insulting foods, I mean processed foods of course, but today I want to highlight other foods that are often deemed as healthful but that contribute to the many symptoms that most people suffer from. My hope with that it will help to explain why people (maybe you?) who eat a healthy diet are still struggling with their health.

Most diseases nowadays are mysteries. As much as science is throwing billions of dollars at cancer and other diseases, there is no consensus around the causes, and rates continue to rise, and alarmingly in those of us who take relatively good care of ourselves. For the past 30 years, I’ve come to understand through my personal, intuitive and professional explorations, that a low-fat plant-based diet is the most healing for the human body. In my books Enlightened Eating and Deep Healing, food classes and ongoing cleanses I’ve done my best to guide you to the inspiration and practical information to eat this way simply and joyfully.

Enter Anthony William, also known as the Medical Medium. When he was four years old he heard a voice that told him that his grandmother had lung cancer. Since that time he hears the voice of what he calls the Spirit of Compassion twenty-four hours a day. Unlike most intuitive voices, the one Anthony hears is outside his body and when he blocks his ears it becomes muffled. He gets constant readings on the people he meets, is told the root causes of their disease and provides food, herb and supplement-based remedies. Although he has no formal science background his knowledge of the human body is astounding. Popular health expert and New York Times bestseller Christiane Northrup, M.D., has said that “Anthony’s gift has made him a conduit for information that is light-years ahead of where science is today.”  Nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., author of 30 health-related books says that “Anthony William is the Edgar Cayce of our time. . . [His] practical and profound medical advice makes him one of the most powerfully effective healers of the 21st century.”

I’ve been participating in the Medical Medium Support Service with Anthony for the past year and his teachings are confirming and enhancing what I’ve intuitively sensed. I feel more confident, and more equipped than ever to create life-long health for myself and to guide others to do the same. I’m grateful beyond words for his presence in my life and in our world.

In terms of the topic that we’re looking at today, Anthony effortlessly knows what the root cause of any disease is, as well as the foods and supplements that lead to healing. Thankfully the causes of the vast majority of diseases are similar, and the solutions are also similar. If you want more details I suggest you pick up his books Medical Medium,  Life Changing Foods,and Thyroid Healing. For our intent today I want to expose what Anthony calls the Unforgiving Four, which are the root cause of virtually all diseases: radiation, toxic heavy metals, pesticides and the viral explosion. These are increasing with each generation and need to be dealt with if we are to protect ourselves and our children. Thankfully it’s simple to reverse all of these and I will get to that. A little more about the unforgiving four though. Here are some quotes from Anthony’s book, Life Changing Foods:

“ Today more radiation than ever before saturates our body systems. Whether from direct exposure, environmental fallout, food and water contamination, or inheritance of our parents and grand-parents’ exposure, radiation is one of the major health risks we all face. It’s a leading contributor to cancers, endocrine system dysfunction, bone diseases such as osteopenia and osteoporosis, body spurs, immune system failure, and skin diseases.”

“Lead, mercury, copper, cadmium, nickel, arsenic, and aluminum can build up in the body to create or contribute to illness…. In some cases the heavy metals in our cells have nothing to do with exposure in our lifetime. Mercury, the most corrupting of the toxic heavy metals, can easily stick around in the bloodline for millennia, passed on from generation to generation, amplifying as it goes… On their own these heavy metals are poisons. What’s worse is that they tend to oxidize causing even more problems, such as toxic runoff that damages any tissue in its path… they damage the brain and nervous system, lower overall immunity and act as a fuel for bacteria and viruses.”

“Ninety-eight percent of the time cancer is caused by a virus in combination with one of the other Unforgiving Four factors…. Viruses such as Epstein Barr, shingles and more are the true causes of some of the most debilitating and misunderstood chronic illnesses of our time: MS, Lyme, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, TMJ, migraines, diabetic neuropathy, tinnitus, vertigo, twitching, tingling, hot flashes and more.”

“DDT, other pesticides and herbicides are the major underlying causes of suppressed immune systems – they weaken people’s bodies so pathogens and other contaminants can take advantage.” DDT remains in the environment, and also gets passed on through the generations. “While DDT may be in the history books now, it is still preying on us – for example by making our livers hypersensitive (viruses are the other major cause of liver distress), instigating diabetes, enlarging spleens and hearts, causing poor digestion, triggering migraines and chronic depression, creating skin disorders, and disrupting hormones.”

It’s important to note that the radiation, heavy metals and DDT are largely inherited or absorbed from our environment and have little to do with how well we are currently eating. People who take care of themselves and are suffering from symptoms most likely were unknowingly exposed to these factors.

You need to know that a diet made up primarily of fruit, vegetables, herbs and wild foods will counteract these four health destroying factors. They are brilliant and powerful allies in our quest to remove radiation, pesticides, and heavy metals from our bodies. They also destroy unwanted viruses and bacteria, and clean and replenish past damage to our livers, thyroids, adrenals, nervous system and other organs.

In my food classes, cleanses and books, we learn about how to enjoy a diet that includes plenty of these life-changing foods. We also get to know which specific foods will be the most helpful for what ails us. In order to benefit we need to eat these foods in significant quantities on a regular basis. Eating too much animal flesh, grain and legumes crowds out fruit and vegetables. I like to recommend a diet made up of at least 3/4’s fruit and vegetables. There are certain foods that compound our health issues because they feed the viruses and bacteria that are lurking deep in most bodies. These pathogens create toxic waste products that are the root cause of most inflammation, neurological issues, tissue damage, digestive issues and organ decline. They are canola oil, eggs, dairy products, pork, corn, and gluten (from wheat and other grains). If you have symptoms you should be eliminating all of these foods, all of the time, until you’re completely satisfied with your health.

Bringing it back to today’s topic, All of the good things that you do to bring down your pathogen load are thwarted by just the little bit of dairy or egg that you have over the weekend, and you’ll be fighting an uphill battle. Also, we have to be vigilant when we go to restaurants many of which are surely using canola oil. Even health food store items often contain this seemingly innocuous oil. Anthony states that canola oil is severely damaging to the immune system, and disruptive to organ and gut health. Canola oil not only feeds pathogens, it also eats away at all the linings of the body (stomach, intestinal tract, veins, arteries, heart, kidneys, bladder, reproductive system).

In addition, it doesn’t matter if our eggs and dairy products come from the most pristine places and cared for animals, because it’s the inherent proteins that feed the viral explosion that’s behind so many ailments. Eggs in particular are being used by scientists to grow viruses in laboratories, and as a result many of today’s bugs have been trained inadvertently to feed on eggs. Once you are healthy, or if you are already healthy, eat the best qualify versions of these foods that you can find. The same thing goes for corn and wheat. Although they used to be healthful and fortifying foods, genetic engineering and other tinkering is unfortunately affecting these grains and consuming them gives fuel to the disease-causing pathogens. If you find you can eat them will no ill effects then you are probably one of the few who are free of the various viruses that disrupt the body. By “no ill effects” I mean you are sleeping well, you wake up rested, you have plenty of energy all day long, your digestion is good, you eliminate regularly, your reproductive system is working well, etc., and you are satisfied with your health.

These times call for drastic measures. We are dealing with more health challenges than ever but we also have more information and resources available to us than ever. Use them, be steadfast and diligent, get support, and enjoy the glory of living in a body the way it was meant to be.
